PARNELL CLUB.

The Parnell Cricket Club will hold its annual meeting at the Chamber of Commerce on September 12. According to the annual report the club, while not winning championship honours in any grade, maintained a consistent standard with promise of improvement, especially in tie higher grades. P. E. Whitelaw headed the senior batting list with. 334 runs, average 47.7, "and A. W. McCoy (43 wickets) and F. Goodsir (22 wickets) showed a decided advance in bowling. Whitelaw, McCoy, H. Duncan and S. Hay had gained places in Auckland $enior touring teams, and M. Barrier, T. L. Walton and E. W. Whitley got places in the junior reps. The 0. B. Smith Cup for highest individual score was won by S. T. Eoskilly with an innings of 142. A. Bell won Mr. R. B. Lusk's bat for good bowling in the senior B team, A. Anthony got Mr. W. Upton's bat for "first century," and H. A. Haszard was awarded Mr. F. Pickford's medal for allround play in the fourth grade. The active membership of 65 had maintained five teams in the field, and the club,

after contributing £5 to the coach, fund, had ended the season with a credit balance of a few shillings, and playing material valued at £88. ■■ ■
