GOLD TINGE.

ANOTHER SYDNEY TRIP MOOTED

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The large contingent of New Zealand horses available for racing in Australia at the coming spring meetings may be still further increased shortly, as there is a prospect of Gold Tinge being shipped to Sydney next month. Gold Tinge, who is owned by Mr. G. J. Barton, a wellknown Dunedin sportsman, is a three-year-old gelding by Paper Money from Vicerine. He made a trip to Sydney last spring under the care of the Wingalui trainer S. G. Ware, and won the Breeders' Plato. On his return to the Dominion he failed to live up to the reputation he gained in Australia, as he did not win another race, though he was twice second and twice third.

For some months past Gold Tinge has been an inmate of W. J. Toinkinson's stable at Aldington, where Mr. Barton's trotters and pacers are trained, but it is unlikely that Tonikinson will be able to spare the time during the busy spring period to take the three-year-old to Sydney.

If Gold Tinge Is sent to Australia he will be a starter in the Rosehill Guineas, and if he acts all rijrht in that event, he may tackle the Australian Jockey Club's Derby, as well a.s other three-year-old events at the Eandwick Carnival in October.

I When Ah "Wcra won the handicap (hurdles at the Oliinemuri meeting last i March he got considerably cut about I during the running of ihat race, and has i not started since. However, he has made ) a complete recovery, and has been proI pressing well in his work at Te Aroha • for some time past, and is to fulfil his engagements at the Dannevirlrc meeting (next week. Ah Wera is regarded, as a J promising hurdler, and he should race I prominently at the Southern meetings.
