ACCIDENT WHILE SHUNTING.

MAN HAS HAND CRUSHED. Engaged in shunting operations at the Penrose railway yards yesterday, Mr. L. H. Stratford, the clerk in charge at the time, had the fingers of his left hand crushed between two buffers. He was taken to the hospital, where two fingers were amputated. Mr. Stratford lives at 483, Great South Road, Ellerslie.
