NOVEL PUBLICITY.

LEADS TO GAOL. LONDON, August 15. A husband's adventure into publicity methods, in endeavouring to communicate with his wife, resulted in a sentence of six weeks at the Southend Court, where Henry Houston, 0.8. E., was summoned for £25' arrears of maintenance. Houston attached to the wall of his wife's garden a poster, printed in four colours, lengthily and eloquently appealing for news of his sick child, and ending: "I hope that some fond parent with a soul, who sees this, melts your granite heart." The wife laconically replied: "Send a lJd stamp and I will tell you."
