ENTERPRISE AT MATAURA.

The planting of pinus insignis trees on the property recently acquired by the New Zealand Paper Mills, Ltd., at Mataura, was commenced last week. From now on operations in tree plaintng will be vigorously pushed on, and 100,000 pines "will be planted this season. The company will guide its planting of tregs each year according to the estimated requirements for the future. It hopes to secure the co-operation of the farmers in the vicinity of Mataura in the matter of tree planting, but this is a matter for future consideration.

In conversation with a newspaper reporter, the general manager said circumstances would eventually decide how soon the pulp mill would be erected at Mataura. A certain amount of timber was now available at different points.
