OTOROHANGA SPORTS GROUND.
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE "ISLAND." (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OTOROHANGA, Tuesday. A meeting of delegates of various sports bodies in the town Avas held-last night, Avhen it Avas decided to form an "island" committee. The "island" is an area of land acquired by the Toavii Board some few years ago. It has an area of 14 acres, mostly flat, and the present campaign- is to carry out improvements to enable football and .cricket to be played there. The following executive was set up to estimate the easts of the improvements: Chamber of Commerce, Mr. H. W. Atkinson; cricket club, Mr. V. L. Fairbrother; gun club, Mr. George Eassey; sports club, Mr. A. J. McCready; A. and P. Association, Mr. 0. Dalziel; Rugby Union, Mr. E. F. Fairbrother; hockey club, Mr. E. Wiliams.
