(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) 3IATAMATA, Tuesday. Another member of the Rocky Downs Club, F. W. Hutchison, joined the select circle of "hole-in-one club " this week. The hole at which the feat was performed was the twelfth, an iron shot, 170 yards. Three members of this club, James Corbett, F. S. Woodhonse, and Hutchison, have now paid the penalty.

ROTORUA TOURNAMENT.

I THE MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, this day. . The annual tournament of the Rotorua Golf Club will commence on Saturday next. The popularity of this annual event is more pronounced this year than ever, and the, number of entries received for the championship event has proved somewhat embaragsing to the liard-workinc committee. Entries for this event have been limited to SO, and already over 140 have been received, and in consequence some disappointment will doubtless be felt by those who delaved sending in their entries until tno late." On Saturday next the first and second rounds of the Veteran's Cup will be plaved. and although post entries will be received up to Saturday, some 27 have aircadv come to hand. On Tuesday the 27th, 'the two qualifying rounds for the championship, and on Wednesday the first and second rounds of the championship will be decided. The semi-final will be nlayed on Thursday morning, the final on

Friday over 36 holes. The semi-final of the Veteran's Cup will be played on Friday morning, and the final in the afternoon. During the tournament stroke and bogey handicaps will be played, also a four-ball foursome bogey and best ball bogey handicaps, so that entrants who do not secure places in the championship or did not qualify, will be well catered fcr. The links arc in beautiful order, and since the break in the frosty conditions (which have been ruling for the past month) the growth of grass' has been tremendous, and lias taxed the efforts of the groundsman and his staff.
