TRAFFIC HELD 'JP.
CAR AND TRAM COLLIDE. MISHAP AT NEWMARKET. As the result of a collision last evening between a motor car and an outgoing tramcar at the junction of Station Street and Manukau Road, traffic through Newmarket was held up for about half an hour. Occurring at 5.30, when traflic was at its height, the mishap caused considerable inconvenience to passengers. Nobody was injured, and, though one of the front wheels of the car was firmly wedged under the tram and could be removed only by means of a jack, it was not extensively damaged.
