i Miss I. Guy, of Hamilton,' is spending some weeks at Wanganui. Miss J. S. Dawe, of Christehureh, has been visiting friends in Hamilton. Mrs. F. A. Crosby, of Whangarei, was in Hamilton during the week. Mrs. Winter, of Gisborne, is spending a holiday in Hamilton. Mrs. J. Barr, of Auckland, is on a visit to friends in Hamilton. Mrs. H. Valder, of Edingthorpe, Claudelands, is spending a holiday in Tauranga. Mrs. T. R. Wallace, of Te Aroha, is on a visit to friends at Te Awamutu. Miss Collins, of Remuera, Auckland, is visiting friends in Ngaruawahia. Mrs. A. Gibbons has returned to Cambridge from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Cross, of Auckland, is on a visit to Pukemiro. Miss J. Robertson, of Auckland, is the guest of the Misses "S ickery. Mrs. P. £. Wvllie has returned to Hamilton after spending a holiday in Sydney. Mrs T. McKenzie, of Canton, China, is the guest of Mrs. W. G. Macky, Paterangi. Miss V. Rowland, of Opotiki, has_ been staying in Cambridge. Miss M. Valder, of Tauranga. has been on a visit to her people at Claudelands. Mrs. R. of Cambridge, is spending a holiday in Christehureh. A very pleasant farewell afternoon tea was given in honour of Mrs. Cross at the home of Mrs. M. H. Hepburn, "'Taumata," Rukuliia, on Saturday. The competitions were won by Mrs. Flyger and Miss Douglas. Those present included: Mesdames Keane, Grocott, Jones, Garvie, Parry, Roebuck, Baine, Carryer, Langdon, McAuliffe. Downes, Cresswell. Misses Beaney, D. McAuliffe, Jones, R. Hepburn, Graham, Derrycourt, M. McAuliffe, S. Hepburn, Brownlee, D. McAuliffe. A birthday party was by a number of Miss Phyllis Andrews' friends at her home in Palmerston Street, Hamilton, on Thursday. At supper time the guests wore carnival hats. Those present were: Mrs. D. Andrews, Misses P. Andrews, E. Green, E. Connell, T. Pollock. P. Anchor. A. Graham, E. Alright, N. Hunter, L. Hall. G. Ranby, T. Andrews, V. Preest, M. Radford, Z. Andrews, Messrs. J. Graham, A. Buckland, S. Anchor, A. Smart. J. Ranby, S. Buckland, J. Smales, B. Henry, E. Simpson, C. Brown. B. Badley, R. McLean, R. Mason, A. Hayes. A surprise party was given to Mrs. H. Mandeno at Te Awamutu on Thursday afternoon. During afternoon tea Mrs. C. Storey presented Mrs. H. Mandeno with a bridge table from her friends. The members of the Cathedral Young People's Club held a dance in the Parish Hall on Thursday. The hostesses were Mrs. J. D. Smith, who was wearing a black georgette with gold lace; Mrs. A. W. Ward, black lace over black georgette. A birthday party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. McLean in honour of their daughter Edna's twentyfirst birthday. Those present included Mesdames W. McLean, J. Dickie, Willis, G. Fromm. P. Melrose, Elmslie, W. W. Dickie, F. J. Hilliar, Jordan, McDonald, Diprose. L. Mapp, Cameron, Misses E. Dickie, N. Elmslie, W. Xicholls, McDonald. Mapp. E. McLean, L. Southee, E. Fauscett, Martin, Snedden, L. Gallagher, Wallace, Gillingham.
