FAT STOCK MARKET.
Alfred Buckland and Ltd., report:—To-day at our weekly Westfield fat stock market we per.aed beef to the number of 293, comprising 214 steers and 79 cows, as against 219 head at last Wednesday's sale. The major portion of the ox beef was equal in weight and quality to anything offered this season. Although there was a keen demand, values were a trifle lower, especially for heavy weight. Extra choice ox sold to 43/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 39/ to 42/; secondary and plain ox, 37/ to 38/8; prime young cow and heifer beef, 38/ to 41/; ordinary cow beef, 34/ to 37/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £19 5/ to £20 10/. Heavy prime irteers, £17 to £19; lighter prime steers, £15 10/ to £16 17/6; light prime steers. £14 to £15 7/6; small and unfinished steers, £10 5/ to £13 17/6; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £13 to £14 15/; heavy ,>rime cows and heifers, £11 10/ to £12 17'6; lighter prime cows and heifers. £8 10/ to £]l 5/; other killable cows, £5 15/ to £8 7/6.
