OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTOROHANGA, Wednesday. The Otorohanga County Council met on Tuesday, Councillor F. Potts in the chair. The county engineer reported that the whole of the staff, plant and motor trucks available had been concentrated on the main roads during the past month, repairing and maintaining roads damaged | through speeding and excessive weights carried. Settlers in the Honikiwi riding petitioned for the formation of a special rating area for metalling the Te Raumauku Road, but as several were unfinancial the council decided to defer action until all tiie rates were paid. Notice of motion was given to levy the following rates Tor the ensuing year:— Honikiwi, 2%d; Mangaorongo, 1 7-16 d; Te Rau—a-moa, l%d; Wharepapa, l%d; and Waipa, l%d.
