AUCKLAND CLUB.

The rooms of the Auckland C'lub •were illed with a large number of guests "esterdav" afternoon, when an At Home vas held by the president and members n honour of Captain Abrial and officers the French cruiser Tourville. In the ihsence of the president, Mr. P. Luckie, he guests were received in the vestibule >y Mr. A. E. Warnock and Mrs. ariock. who was wearing a frock of dark iavy georgette and lace, with brown furs ind navy hat to match. She carried a souquet of rose flowers, which were pre•ented to her on arrival at the club. Dr. Andra Warnock was with her parents, and wore a frock of georgette ind silk lace iu a soft shade of leaf ireen. Her hat was of green felt, and fhe carried a bouquet of violets. The nub rooms were beautifully decorated vitli brightly coloured flags, masses of rreeuerv and fragrant flowers. In the lining room, which had been cleared for lancing, flags of all nations were draped iround the walls, and in each corner were all palms and flowering pot-plants. Excellent music was supplied, and a arge number of guests patronised the lance-tioor. Tea was served upstairs in he billiard room. Here, the flowers were ,ery beautiful. On the centre table a scheme of gold and yellow was employed, Iceland poppies in tall crystal vases and vat tie being used with great effect. The ;ables on each side had mauve and violet :olourings. Large wicker baskets confining bunches of violets'and mauve rises in tail silver vases stood high on ;ho tables, while more violets in low sowls were placed here and there. The ■vhole effect was most charming, and ■ailed for a number of appreciative renarks from the guests.
