MAN POISONED.

NEW LYNN RESIDENT.

IMPROVEMENT OP CONDITION.

Edwin Ryan, aged 32, a married man and labourer living at Cardwell Street, New Lynn, was taken to the Auckland Hospital late yesterday afternoon suffering from the effects of poison. His condition was critical on admission, but today he had shown improvement. Ryan returned from work about 3 o'clock, and later was found lying outside his homo with a bottle of poison beside him. At one time he was a wellknown Rugby footballer, and was a member of the New Zealand Army team.
