County results are: — Derby, first innings, 94 (White five for 23); second innings, 346 for nine, declared (Lee 118). Somerset, first innings, 179 (Mitchell four for 19, and Townsend four for 44); second innings, 129 (Mitchell four for 22, and Slater four for 38). Derby won by 132 runs.
Northants, first innings, 125 (Tate seven for 48); second innings, 215. Sussex, first innings, 447 (Duleepsiniiji 71, Wensley 83, J. Langridge 110). Sussex won by an innings and 107 runs. Kent, first innings, 323 (Ames 101, A. Douglas 84); second innings, CI (Nicols five for 27). Essex, first innings, 230 (O'Connor 116; Freeman five for 99); second innings, 82 (Freeman seven for 23). Kent won by 72 runs. Yorkshire, first innings, 23S (Root seven for 65); second innings, 267 for nine, declared (Greenwood 65). Worcester, first innings, 252 (Fox 79 not out; Dennis four for 83); second innings, 118 for seven. Worcester won on the first innings. Gloucester, first innings, 121 (Macdonald six for 47); second innings, 200 for eight (Neale 65, Dipper 67; Rushton four for 30). Lancashire, first innings, 168 (Goddard four for 59). Lancashire won on the first innings.
AFRICAN CRICKETERS.
WIN AGAINST WALES. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 12. The South African cricketers beat Wales by ten runs. Wales in the second innings made 262. McMillan took three wickets for 93 runs, and Vincent five for 70. South Africa made 192 and 239, and Wales 159 in the first innings. GENTLEMEN PLAYERS.
FIRST MATCH DRAWN.

(Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 12. In the Gentlemen v. Players cricket match at the Oval the Gentlemen in the second innings made 221 for four, declared (Wyatt 55, Parsons 54, not out). The Players in the second innings made 163 for five (Hearne 68, not out). The match was drawn. The Gentlemen in the first innings made 450 runs, and the Players 334.

Germany Leads In European Zone Final. BRITAIN LOSES FIRST SINGLES. (Austra'ian and N.Z. Press Association ) (Received 11 a.m.) BERLIN, July 12. In the final of the Davis Cup competition for the European zone Germany won the first two singles matches from Britain. Prenn beat Gregory, 6 —3, 6—3, 6 —2; Moldenhauer beat Austin, 6—4, o—2,' 6 —3. There were five thousand spectators present, including the ex-Crown Prince.

The team selected for tomorrow's match is as follows: — Full-back. —Stringfellow. Three-quarters.—Grenside, Lilburne, Waterman. Five-eighths.—Hook, Cundy. Half -back. —Tuck. Wing-forward.—Souter.
