Tlie Mayor's fund now stands at £9020. To-day contributions include St. Stephen's Church £28 12/11, ancl £20 from the Thames Girls' Club. Details are: —
Considering the programme not quite suitable, the Auckland- Gity Council has declined to grant permission to Mr; Ray Puller to hold & Sunday night concert at St. James' Theatre in aid of the earthquake fund. Mr. Fuller states- that a similar concert to the one proposed h,ere' was held in. Christeliurch, and the proceeds amounted to £127. From a handful of settlers at Titoki. near Whangarei, a social arranged' by the ladies of. the district netted the splendid sum of £100". The "Northern Advocate's"' fund at Whangarei now exceeds £600.
At Papatoetoe on Monday evening 'two halls- will be-engaged for' a novelty entertainment in aid of the district appeal for the earthquake relief funds..
MORRvUTSVILLE HELPS. Subscriptions to the fund opened by the Mayor of Morrinsville for the relief of earthquake distress now total £260 1/9. SOUTHLAND'S EFFORT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.). INVERCAKGILL, this day. The Southland County Council voted £250 to the earthquake fund, which now amounts, to £1640; The: Mayor has sent the first instalment, £1230,- to the Prime Minister. PROVINCIAL FUNDS.. "Waikato Independent's" fund now totals £442 12/3. The Mayor of Thames has received £201.
