Mr. C. R Ford left for Wellington by train last evening. Archdeacon Williams, of Gisborne, was a passenger, for sou.th by. last evening's train. Dr. R. C. Macdiarmid, of Huntiy, is visiting Auckland. He is staying at the Central Hotel. • Central Hotel guests include Mr. and Mrs. H. Lewis (Tauranga), Mr. F. Duck-1 worth, Mr. H. Bailey, Mr. W. Trewby and Mr. J. Franklin (New Plymouth) and Mr. M. Menzies (Denniston). Major E. S.' Robinson, secretary of the Melanesian Mission, who has been on a two months' visit to Otago and Southland on business in connection with the mission, returned to Auckland by the Limited express this morning. j\lr. Adam Wilson, manager of the Thames branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of tlie Gisborne;. branch. Mr. Wilson will be succeeded at Thames by Mr. J. S. Columb, manager of the bank's Whakatane branch. ■ Among the guests at the Star Hotel are Mr. R. J. Lomb and Mr. A. Higglesworth (Christchurch), Mr. H. A. Fox, Mr. P. Barry and Mr. E. P. Shepherd (Wellington), Mr. G. W. Richards (Hamilton), Mr. R. E. Chrisp (Giaborno), Mr; W. Vosper (Cambridge), Mr. H. Preston (Wellington) and Mr. B. Sladden (Tauranga)..
