A CATCH.
Fill a bucket with water and pick up a pebble. Then go up to your chum nnd say, "Do you think I can make this pebble touch the bottom of this bucket without it getting wet?" Of course, this sounds impossible without emptying the bucket, and your chum will be anxious to know how it is done. When he has given it up, just place your bucket on the pebble. "There you are. The pebble is now touching the bottom of the bucket, and it is not a bit wet."
