Praise For Sir A. Chamberlain
At League Meeting.
ABLE AND LOYAL STATESMAN.
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 12 noon.) RUGBY, June 6. At the opening this morning of the meeting of the League of Nations Council at Madrid tributes were paid to Sir Austen Chamberlain, Foreign Secretary in the Baldwin Government. M. Briand, the French Foreign Minister, observed that Sir Austen Chamberlain was one of the most able and loyal statesmen with whom he had collaborated.
Count Adatchi, the Japanese delegate, spoke in .terms of the highest appreciation of the loyal co-operation of Sir Austen in the preparation of the report of a committee of three on minorities recently held in London.
