MORE BUSINESS DOING
BREWERIES ADVANCE FURTHER,
SALES AT £3 12/6.
Following a quiet period a fair number of sales were recorded after the Star went to press yesterday. A fairly wider range of stocks was dealt with on the basis of recent quotations. New Zealand Breweries shares showed a further advance, a sale being made at £3 12/, and the same figure was still available at this morning's call. Holders of Bank of Adelaide shares have dropped their limits 1/. Bycrofts, too, have eased, buyers having reduced ther offers to £1 10/ for the £1 scrip. Buyers have raised their offers for Innes Brewery preference shares, and also for Donaghy's Rope. At this mornings call Hospital Board debentures, 5Va per cent (1935) were offered at £103, and a buyer responded with £100. Devonport Loan 6 per cent (1963) was offered at £106, bringing buyers up to £103 10/. The Noon Call. Amongst sales made during the morning and reported at the noon call, was one of New Zealand Breweries at £3 12/6, marking a further advance in this line. Bank of New Zealand D mortgage also showed a rise, with a sale at £19/ for the £1 scrip. Farmers' Trading ordinary shares moved up a penny. Interest Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as follows for the latest sales:— PER CENT PER ANNUM. £ s. d.
