PUBLISHER CONVICTED. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The publisher of an unofficial sports programme, Fred Gaskill, was prosecuted in the Magistrate's Court this morning, the case being a test case, said to be the first of its kind in New Zealand. It was alleged that Gaskill published a programme of Rugby football matches without the express permission of the Canterbury Rugby Union. Gaskill said he had offended in ignorance of the law. He was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
