MR. WILLIAM ARUNDEL.
There passed away at Braemar.Hospital, Thames,. on June 3, Mr. William Arundel, the well-known storekeeper at Kopu, near Thames,, in his 48th year. Mr. Arundel was born at Castleford,, Yorkshire, England, being the youngest son of Mr. Richard Arundel, of that town, and member of a very old Yorkshire family. Mr. William Arundel came to the Dominion about 18 years ago, and, after his arrival spent some time in the South Island. He then came north and worked in the mines at Karangahake, later receiving an appointment as-man-ager of the Hikurangi coal mine, which position he held for some years. He relinquished, that position for health reasons- and. went'to Thame3, and took over a general store at ■ Kopu. He ; married fourteen years ago. Miss M. Lowe, «-idtst daughter of Mr. H. Lowe, chairman of the Thames County Council. ]Ie is survived by his widow and two children.
