BALDWIN SURE.
TORIES MUST WIN. " Liberals Will Put Socialists In Power." IMPRESSIONS OF TOUR. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 26. Mr. Baldwin, who is resting at Chequers, when interviewed, said that his strongest impression gained from his tour was that the nation is in earnest over the election. "I am confident that Ave shall win with such a majority as will enable us to carry on our work for the recovery of prosperity and the betterment of the j social conditions against the joint Labour and Liberal opposition.
"The feeling has taken root in this fight that a vote for the Liberals can only tend to produce a position of stalemate, and it is recognised that nothing could be more disastrous to the present trade revival than experiments with Socialism or uncertainty arising from a deadlock with another election inevitable. "In consequence the people arc in a reflective mood and want facts not rhetoric. Again and again I have found the same sequence of thought that the Labour party with its Socialistic schemes and its franlc promise of increased taxation is a menace to the revival of trade and that the Liberal road schemo is an electioneering ruse and not a practical proposal. "Lastly, I find that the Liberals will put tho Socialists in power if they have a chance."
