Bur-ley, who holds an underviewer'ts certificate, allowing for the employment of 200 men, has secured the mineral rights over 840 acres of land at Avoca. near Tangawahine. The men interested were among those who were unsuccessful in balloting for employment at Wilson's Collieries when the Hikuranci Goal Company's mine was closed. All labour will be non-union, and it is hoped that mining will be started shortly.
