MODERN PIED PIPER.
There is one certain vehicle, in every city and large township which attracts more attention!'than any other. Every appearance causes a more or 'less mild sensation, and; if- is always followed by a stream of motor cars, motor cycles, push bikes, and small boys yelling: "Hey, Bluey, where is it? Which way?" The vehicle is a modern version of the "Pied Piper," and many who hear the melodious horn join in and follow on. And every time it passes the window the office boy remembers a forgotten message, or an unposted letter, and quickly disappears. Then the schoolboys find a good excuse for playing truant. Though often the jaunt proves "a wild goose chase," arid - if even they return tired and dusty, ..you can still depend on them to answer the next call. What, haven't you guessed yet? It's the fire engine, of course.
