SHOOTING ACCIDENT.

YOUNG MAN LOSES ARM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, Monday. A serious accident befel a young farmer, Jack Symes, yesterday afternoon, when he was returning from, duck shooting on Hatuma Lake. Mr. Symes and a companion, Mi*. James Simmonds, were in the act of stepping out of their boat "when Mr. Simmonds knocked over a gun, causing it to explode. Mr. Symes received the full charge in his right arm and wrist. He was taken to Waipukurau Hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the arm below, the elbow, His condition this morning was satisfactory.
