REJECTED AT MOUNT EDEN. DECISION" OF RATEPAYERS. By a majority of 386 votes in a small poll, the ratepayers of Mount Eden Borough decided yesterday not to adopt the system of rating upon unimproved values: — Against the proposal >... 1-117 For the proposal ; 731 Majority against ( .. ; 386 There are close on 6000 ratepayers on the Mount Eden Borough roll, and less than one-third recorded a vote. When the result of the poll was announced, the Mayor (Mr. E. H. Potter) said the decision was in the interests of the district. There was very little unoccupied land in the borough, there being only one large subdivision to be roaded.
