NEW M.C.C. PEESIDENT. (British Official .Wireless.) RUGBY, May 5. Field-Marshal Lord Plumer was on Friday elected president of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Lord Plumer has been a member of the club for many years and has taken a very keen interest in cricket, both from the executive and the sporting point of view* Yesterday the South Africans commenced a. match against Leicestershire. The home side batted first and made 208 (Shipman 58, Dawson 58). South Africa had lost two wickets for 67 (Siedle 28, Taylor 23) when stumps were drawn.'
