"REFRESHER" FOR CLERGY.

COURSE AT KING'S COLLEGE

MISSIONARY LECTURES,

Anglican clergy of the Auckland diocese will attend a refresher course at King's College during the last live days of May. The course will open on the evening of Monday, May 27, at 5.30 o'clock, when evensong will be said. There will be an introductory address by the Rev. H. K. Archdall, headmaster of King's, after tea. Each day will commence with matins at 7 o'clock, followed by a celebration of Holy Communion, and the office of compline will be "said nightly at 9.30.

Lectures given during the course will be based on the syllabus of lectures for nissionary schools, published by the Missionary Council of the Church Assembly.

The Rev. W. G. jJTonckton will speak on "The World: Modern Movements and Their Meaning"; Rev. R. H. Hobday, on "The Bible: God's Missionary Purpose Revealed"; Rev. 11. T. Steele, "The Church Growth"; Rev. E. E. Bamford, "The Parish: Our Ideal and Its Attainment by Education"; Rev. R. G. Coats, "Leadership' and Its Approach: The Personal Factor"; Rev. 11. A- Coleman, "Education Methods for the Whole Parish"; Rev. F. G. Harvie, "Future Plans: The Next Step"; Rev. F. C. Long, "Self Consecration."

In his monthly letter. Archbishop Averill says that the course this year will be particularly useful and helpful, inasmuch as it will bring before the clergy some of the great principles contained in i "The World Call to the Church." Parishes should urge their clergy to attend, says his Grace, and if necessary defray the small expense entailed. The help received by the clergy will be passed on to congregations.
