YOUNG PEOPLE CELEBRATE.
MAX FINED FOR ASSAULT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMHRSTON X., thi» day. •As the sequel to an episode which occurred on the niglit of March 31, Lionel Clifford Xiniino, aged 20, was charged to-day with common assault on a domestic servant. The original charge, of indecent assault, was reduced 011 counsel's application. Accused pleaded guilty. The police said a party of young people, celebrating unwisely, ail got considerably the worse for liquor. Apparently there were faults 011 both sides. Counsel for accused said he .had pleaded guilty to avoid giving publicity to the parties concerned. Accused had borne' a good character. The magistrate refused counsel's suggestion that he impose it nominal penalty. He fined Nimmo £5 and costs, atid refused to suppress his name.
