HOOLIGANISM IN THE SUBURBS.

'"Master Mariner" is only voicing the complaint of many suburban dwellers. The instance of youthful ruffianism which he mentions is trivial when compared with some really vulgar cases of boldness and '"cheek"' practised by tbe youth of Auckland. Unfortunately such matters escape the notice of the law abiders, and, in consequence, having no one to prevent them, small gangs of boys speedily become public nuisances. Truly boys will be boys, and a little skylarking can be tolerated, but when, in darkened streets and often in broad daylight, some light-brained lads beijin to molest peaceful girls and women something should be done about it. PLAY THE GAME.
