THIEVES AT ELLERSLIE.

JOCKEY'S HOUSE RAIDED.

THE PREMISES RANSACKED.

NOTHING OF VALUE TAKEN.

Between one o'clock and 10 p.m. yesterday, thieves raided the house of Mr. £. Ludlow, the well-known jockey, at Ellerslie. Mr. Ludlow was absent, having gone to Whangarei for the races being held there to-day. Mrs. Ludlow did not go, but she was in town during the afternoon. On returning home at 10 o'clock last night she discovered that the premises had been entered and completely ransacked. It is not believed that anything of value was stolen.
