I would like to comment on Sir Joeepk Ward's reply to report* on tie living condition! aboard the Maui Pomare. Has Sir Joseph ever experienced the lot of the man sailing before the mast to-day with sleepinc and mewing accommodation complying with Beard of Trade requirements? Why. even pirs in this country have more cubic feet per head than men have to live in under those rnles. R. CARSON*.
