MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

MEETING.

AUSTRALIAN 'VARSITIES' VISIT. TRANSFERS AND REINSTATEMENTS. At the meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union last evening, Mr. H. Frost presiding, a number of Items touching the incoming season were dealt with. Arrangements for the Australian University team's visit were considered and approved. The matches will be conducted by the Auckland Rugby Union, which body will receive 30 per cent of the gross gate receipts and pay the Board of Control its share. Any balance, after paying expenses, will go to the University Club, Auckland. It was decided to nominate Mr. G. Nicholson as a selector for the New Zealand team. A request from the Training College Club asking that the club be allowed byes during the season, was declined, owing to difficulties in rearranging matches. Mr. R. Bell was reappointed country adviser and Mr. H. Frost representative on the Board of Control for the next three years.

The following transfers were approved :— T. It. Turei. from Grafton to Mamikau Rovers; D. P. Walsh, from North Shore to Marist: V. Clarke and C. D'Aiithreau. from North Shore to University; F. .Solo man. from North Shore to Ponsonby : D. H. McKay, from North Shore to Graftou. It was decided to recommend the reinstatements of W. F. Henry and M. Herewini to the New Zealand Kugby Union. DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND. Tho following fixtures were approved for the opening matches of the season on Saturday week :— Grade A.—Mamikau v. City. Onehunga No. 1, 3 p.m.; Marist v. Technical Old Boys. Eden Park No. 2, 3 p.m.; Ponsonby v. Grammar Old Boys, Eden Park No. 1, 3 p.m. ; Training College v. University, Eden Park No. 1, 1.30 p.m.; College Rifles v. Grafton, Show Grounds, 3 p.m. Senior Grade B.—Otahuhu v. Marathon, Sturgess Park, 3 p.m.: Manukau v. Ponsonby, Onehunga No. 3, 3 p.m.: Suburbs v. North Shore, Eden Park No. 3. 3 p.m.; University v. Tramways, Victoria Park, 3 p.m. ; Parnell. a bye. MATCH AT PAPAKURA. A match will be played at. Papakura on Saturday between teams representing the Manukau Sub-union and the Grafton Club, Auckland. The sub-union team is as follows:—James, Rowe, Royguard. Hamilton, N. Munro, T. Cossy, R. Cossy, F. Herd, A. Stokes, A. Munro, Scott. L. Morrow. R. Hope, Clarke, Geraghty. Emergencies: Hyde, H. Munro, Cowau, Hunter.

At the annual meeting of the White Star Football Club, Mr. E. J. Campbell presiding, the balance-sheet showed a cerdit of Officers elected were: President. Mr. C. Laver; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Perkins club captain, Mr. G. Perry vice-cap-tain, Mr. R. Perkins; committee, Messrs. F. Golding, W. McCormick, G. Perry, Jtt. Perkins, E. J. Campbell, and the president ; senior selectors, Messrs. Perry, C. Daxeley, Golding, and Perkins.; delegates to tlie Pukekohe Rugby Union, Messrs. A. G. Richardson, I,aver, and social committee Messrs. F. Brown. W. -weormick, W. Jenkins, R. Wilson, and 11, Craig. It was decided to enter -three teams for the competitions. XAIPARA UNION. At the annual general meeting of the Kaipara Rugby Union there was a moderate attendance. The secretary's report showed a credit balance of £31 2/2 in the general account, and €72 17/6 in the insurance account. A resolution was carried expressing the union's appreciation for the manner in which the retiring secretary (Mr. C. Keane) had prepared the annual report and balance-sheet, and for his good work during the past three years. 1 The following officers were elected:— Patroness. Mrs. M. E. Keane; president, Mr. W. F. Coutts; vice-presidents, Messrs A. I. McLeod. V. H. McMurdo, W. W. L. Bradly, G. Taylor, C. Young, J. B. Edmonds. R. Harris, W. Downer, J. H. Williams, H. Dye ; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. Keane (pro tem).

Some discussion took place re affiliating to the North Auckland Union. It was left to the incoming union to decide.

OPOTIKI UNION

At the annual meeting of the Opotiki Rugby Union. Mr. P. I{. Burton was elected president ; sole senior selector, Mr. L. Mcintosh; junior selector, Mr. A. Cooke. The president announnced that the Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody, had donated a cup for junior competition. It was decided to go into the question of altering the site of the playing grounds. At the annual meeting of the Te Hui Rugby Football Club. Mr. G .Mio was elected president; delegates to Opotiki Rugby Union, Messrs. T. Webb and J. Edwards. The meeting favoured a sole selector for the Opotiki representative team. Mr. A. E. Lowe was appointed club coach.
