GIFTS TO ONEHUNGA CLUB.

The Onehunga Croquet Club was recently presented with a new flagstaff by Mr. S. Westney. When the members as>emble>l on the ground yesterday afternoon, with many visitors. the president 'Mrs. C. Schnanen accepted the gift, which had been placed in position, on behalf of the clnb.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Buchanan then presented the club with a new banner, bearing the inscription: "A.C.A. luter-club Champion. Onehunga. 1021-lt'2f»." Mrs. Buchanan said the club had won the championship for nine years in succession, and the new banner was presented to mark the donor's appreciation of the sustained achievement. Mrs. Ruchanan. who is a life member of the Onehunga Croquet Club, then unfurled the banner. The bowling matches on the adjoining green were suspended during this function, and at the close of the ceremony (he bowlers joined the- ladies at afternoon tea.
