RYDER CUP MATCH. AMERICANS IN BRITAIN. (Australian and N\Z. Association.) LONDON, AprillG. Ten profes-sional American golfers, headed by Hagen, have arrived in England. They are to meet British professionals in the Ryder Cup and to compete in the open championship. AKARANA CLUB. The monthly roo:.'«l competition will he played by members of the Akarana Golf Club on Saturday. In conjunction an ISholes stroke competition for a trophy presented by Messrs. Hunter and Sons. Ltd., will be held. Entries for both events will be accepted at the clubhouse. AKARANA LADIES CLUB. The Akarana Ladies' Golf Club will play a flag match to-morrow. Post entries will be received.

OKOROIRE CLUB. The Okoroire Golf Club held its ip i.iug day of this season in the presence of a good attendance of members and players from surrounding clubs. A mixed foursome. two-ball handicap competition was played, the winners being Mrs. Leggatt and Mr. A. Thompson, both of the rSitaruru Club. The rnnners-up were Mr. and Ms. Mnrphy. also of the Putarum Club. The course was in Tery good order. Visiting payers expressing their appreciation of the good condition of all the fairways and the greens. The club expects to hare the course in first-class order throughout at the beginning of May. when it will hold a tournament at which the original Okoroire ■ Challenge Cup will be played for. This cup was first played for in 1908, and was won by Mr. J. B. Macfarlaue. The last holder was Mr. P. A. Wilson, who won it in 1915. The enp has never been competed for since that year. At the annual meeting of the Okoroire Golf Club it was reported that there was a prospect of securing 100 members -this year. The following officers were elected : President, Mr. F. Goodwin ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Laurenson, A. A. Martin (Auckland >. M. O Connor (Auckland). F. Rose * iirau). and X. L. Higginson (Okoroire) ; hon. secretary. Mr. Scott Higginson; cliib captain. Mr. W. Rice ; vice-captain. Mr. L. Bayley; committee. Messrs. F. Goodwin, W Riee. L. Bay ley, E. Harwood and F. AnQCXfOA.
