TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

BUSINESS STILL GOOD

Business on the local stock exchange continues brisk, and a substantial quantity of business has been recorded since the "Star" went to press yesterday.

A sale of inscribed stock (5% per cent) 1933 took place at £101 5/, a. 2/6 drop. This shows a net, return to the investor based upon redemption at maturity of £5 3/3 per cent.

(las Company debentures "have boon sought for some time, and at this morning's call the buying rate for the tive per cents was lifted £1 to £05 without response. Grey Valley C\>al had bidders 3d higher at £1 2/9, but the lowest seller was £1 36. Auckland Gas contributing showed continued firmness, buyers still offering 13 3. Buyei* of Robinson's Ice Cream advanced their offers 6d to £1 2/6. This company pays ten per cent dividend and at £1 3/ the return to a present investor would be £8 14/ per cent per annum. l'ukemiro Coal shares which recently paid a lower interim dividend than was the case last year, sold at £3 5/. A sale of Renown preference at 17/3 was 3d lower than the last sale. Bank shares were again in keen demand and Australasia, which sold earlier in the week at £14 14/ had buyers offering £14 16 . At the mid-day call Bank of Xew Zealand shares changed hands at £3 2/ and more were sought at the same figure. Buyens of Abraham and Williams have advanced their offers to £4 9/ for the £5 preference share?! with no sellers coming forward. The dividend is six per cent and the return to the prevent investor at £4 !)/ would be six and three-quarters per cent. Inquiries wore received to-day for Holden Motor* and for Staples Breweries, with no response from holders. BUSINESS DONE.
