AUCKLAND SHAREMAKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE.

BUSINESS SATISFACTORY. BANK SHARES STILL SELLING. Satisfactory business continues 011 the local Stock Exchange. After the "Star'' went to press yesterday several sales were made at the 3 o'clock call, and subsequently. A sale of Electrolytic Zinc at 30.3 was a shilling lower than the previous sale, reflecting possibly the weaker tone of the metals market.

Waihi Mining was sold this morning at 13/10, a rise 411 2d. These are 5/ shares, and last annual dividend was 2/', equal to 40 per cent. Banks were again in demand, and several parcels changed hands before the call, after which buying offers were reduced. Kauri Timber showed a further rise, a sale being made at 17/8. and another at 17/9. The latest dividend paid by this company was only three per cent, but it is expected that, so soon as better profits warrant, a higher return will be made, llayward's Pictures were asked for at £1, but the best selling offer was £1 1 ti.

A parcel of Franklin Power Board's debentures was placed at £102 10/. These pay f>% per cent, and mature in Mil. The return to the purchaser, based 011 redemption at maturity, is approximately £5 12 per cent. The return on present outlay. based on latest dividends, in connection with other sales is approximately as follows:- —
