STEWARDS HOLD INQUIRY. HORSE SCRATCHED — FURTHER STATEMENT PROMISP:D. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HAWERA. this day. The case of Ukulele mentioned in the "Auckland Star" early in the week, has raised considerable discussion in trotting circles. A meeting of the judicial committee was arranged for this morning to he held on the course, but before the meeting the owner scratched her for to-day's engagements. The committee considered the position and found the mare had been incorrectly nominated, the owner having failed to fill an entry form, "Ukulele Lady, late Pandora (Australia)." The handieapper was exonerated. A further statement will be made to the Press later.
