HOT BOX AGAIN.

DELAYS LIMITED EXPRESS. ARRIVES HALF HOUR LATE TO-DAY. For tbe second time this week the Limited express was half an hour late arriving at Auckland this morning. Yesterday a fog in the King Country and consequent delays in crossing other trains at wayside stations were contributing factors. To-day's delay was again caused by a hot box on a de luxe sleeper. _ Trouble developed at Palmerston North last night, and four minutes' delay took place whilst, attention was given to the bearing. Another four minutes was lost at Marton and a similar time at Taihape, making 16 minutes lost time directly attributable to the hot box. The other 14 minutes' delay was caused by the exprees being thrown out of her schedule running, having to be pulled up to pass other trains. Hot boxes are becoming increasingly frequent on the d e luxe sleepers attached to the Limited express, and two were discovered on one car last week. The car responsible for this morning's delay is numbered 1616, and it was affected last Friday as well. Attention was paid to it at Auckland, and it was dispatched to Wellington, no trouble being experienced on the run down. So frequently have hot boxes occurred on the Limited express of late that the train ie becoming known as the "Hot box train" amongst railway men.
