HEENEY IN U.S.A.
Bout With Von Porat At Chicago To-day. DISCUSSION OVER REFEREE. CHICAGO, March 12. Tom Heencv. of New Zealand, anil von Porat, who are to box a 10-rouiid contest at Chicago this evening, havecompleted their training. They announce that they are in fine condition. Both men shadow-boxed and skipped yesterday. There appears to be so little choice between the two boxers that the bettiii" has dropped to even money. Heeney"--condition seemed excellent upon his arrival, in spite of his loss to Maloney at Boston on March 1. Von Porat is believed to have greatly improved ar.d the bout is expected in be a duel of right hands, with which each man is a hard hitter. Heenej is a shade the better boxer, and it is believed that he will try to out-box his opponent. Von Porat says he will attempt In penetrate Heeney's defence and to crosthe right to his jaw. There has been some discussion as to the referee for the match. Mr. Harvev Heeney- S manager, says he desires to protect himself against another decision like that in the contest with Malonev He says: Heeney won that even though Malonev secured the decision. I paid no attention to the question of who the referee would be, but I shall pay attention from now on.
