IN THF. HUNDRED WORD PARAGRAPH COMPETITION. it- - AN OLD FAVOURITE THIS WEEK.
Dear Coys and Girls, There were not quite so many entries for "the hundred word paragraph comnetition as there were for last week's, and the standard of the work was a little lower than that of the one conducted last week/ However, the winning entries were quite food. Particularly so was the paragraph submitted by Gordon Bilkey, of Clarke Road, Papakura Hβ was awarded the»first prize. ,™ . A " otllt! , r ve, * "Stable entry was sent mby Muriel Jones, Epsom, and For it Muriel wa.*given the second prize of 5/. The third prize of 3/, and the fourth of 2/e, were carried off by Winifred Dromgool, Ellerslie, and Eric Jaeombs, Mount Eden. The four-pointers' work was all very good, the standard of the paragraphs tapering down through the three two-pointers and one-pointers, until eventua ly those that were not at all good were arranged in a pile of • throw-outs. r " r Next week'* competition is an «W" competition.
