£t. Matthew's Church was tlio scene recently of a very pretty wedding between Miss Kiva Wilkes, only daughter of and the late Mr. A. Wilkes, of Auckland, and Mr. Ernest. Bender, fourth son of ilr-. and the late Mr. Henry Bender. aNo of Auckland. Canon firant (.'owe!) officiated, and Mr. Phi'iipotts presided at the orpin. The bride, who was given away by Mr. Roy Bender, brother of the bridegroom, looked charming in a frown of white crep" .le chine vrith silk lace inserted in scollops to match the hem, and horseshoe or orange blossoms, making a pretty finish on hip. The veil, which #as beautifully embroidered, was dra]>ed in the shape of a cap from the coronet, and hung from the shoulders to form a train. She wore a beautiful necklace of pearls, a jrift from her grandmother, and carried a boufjuet of white chrysanthemum* and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids were the Mis-es Flora and Chrissie John-ton. the former wearing blue crepe de chine, and the latter apricot, both having headdresses and bouquets to tone. Mi-s Alma Bender acted as flower girl, and looked \ t*rv pretty in maiivo crepe ilo chin<\ with headdros ; !M d p,.<y to match. Mr. Keith Nation acted s best man. and Mr. Arthur Post'ewiiite as groom-man. After the ceremony a reception wa- held at Mis.« Aitkenhead's, Park Poad. llie table being tastefully decorated for the occasion. #

The Rev. A. Wilson officiated. The bride was given away liv her brother, Mr. John Patersuii, and wure an ivory beaded georgette, with ilouncc* of satin chaininade. The Brus-els net veil was cut in circular fa-hion and worked with sprays of flowers in silk. A wreath of orange blossoms had Two clusters of orange buds at ihe ears, and she carried a large t-hower bouquet of white roses, carnations and cactus dahlias. The matron of honour. Mrs. C'. J. Edmonds, wore a shot' ceil blue chiffon taffeta, with an uneven transparent tulle hem. A tulle headdress and shower bouquet of pink and blue flowers toned with her frock. The best man was Mr. Peebles. The reception, which was held at John Buchanan's. Symonds Street,, had blue and pink asters for the supper tables, with a white floral wedding bell. The bride's mother wore a light mulberry silk rep. with hat to match. The bridegroom's mother wore black faced cloth coat and | skirt, trimmed with braid, with silver | and black hat.
