WAIUKU TOWN BOARD.
The Waiuku Town Board met on Monday evening, Mr. J. A. James presiding. Mr. Buttimore reported that he had. with the chairman and clerk, -waited upon the Main Highways Council with reference to having the main highway extended from the National Bank to the boundary both ways, and he had great hopes that the request would be granted. Mr. Farrelly's tender for the concrete wall at the Sandspit, and also for painting the ladies" and men's dressing rooms, was accepted. The Post and Telegraph Department wrote asking lor an estimate of co*t of repairing footpaths, reecntly dug up for the purpose of laying cables, also informing the board that the telegraph pole complained of in Collingwood Road would be shifted back to the boundary Ihe District Engineer of Railways wrote forwarding authority for the board to lay 6-inch mains across the railway at J-ernleigh overhead bridge. The clerk reported having received tho agreement for putting down the 7%-inch bores, duly signed by the contractors. -Messrs. (jilberd and Craig.
