MUIR'S GOLD REEFS.
GOVERNMENT FORECLOSES. A Gazette notice intimates that Muir's Gold Reefs. Ltd... being in default in payment of principal and interest in respect to certain debts to the Crown, possession will be taken of the company's assets. Under the Act foreclosures must be deferred 14 days after the notice is given. Muir's Reefs has received a lot of assistance from the Government in addition to money lent. Out of the annual provision to encourage prospectin", subsidies were paid to the company totalling £37.400 for the years 1917 to 19*27. In 1919 the company treated 4100 tons' of ore for £17,703, in 1920-21 £7475 was won. The next year thare were lit} employees and the output of bullion was £l)ii.l00. 11l 192.3 the company spent a subsidy of £0000 and won bullion £7.3.213.
