BAY OF ISLANDS.
UNITED PARTY'S INTENTIONS.
COMING BY-ELECTION - .
That no announcement could be made regarding the United party's intentions at the approaching by-election in the Bay of Islands electorate, was the statement of Mr. A. E. Davy, chairman of the New Zealand executive of the party, last evening. Hβ had returned from the North, and went South by the Limited. After Sir Joseph Ward had considered the matter an announcement might be made. More than that, Mr. Davy would not say. On his departure for the North some days ago Mr. Davy said two excellent United candidates were available in the electorate, should the party deeid* to contest the seat. The Labour party has announced that it will not have a candidate in the field.
