TOURNEY AT ENGLAND. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council was held, with Mr. W. E. A. Gill presiding. The financial statement showed amounts in the bant and on deposit totalling £535 9/. With regard to the 1929 championship meeting, it was decided to have the Belmont course inspected early in May by a professional appointed by the association. The definite date of the inspection will be decided early next month. It was resolved to again notify the clubs that where a new standard scratch score has been fixed at a lower figure than the old bogey for the course, handicaps of all members are to be adjusted by adding the number of stroke® by which tile bogey hag been reduced.

John Lambie was reappointed the asso-clatlon'-s professional for a further 12 months on the same terms as last year.

James Watt wrot® resigning his appointment to tour the clubs in the far North, and it was resolved to make inquiries regarding another professional whose name ha« been submitted.

With regard to the Kirb-Windeyer Cup marches to be played in August next in Melbourne, it was resolved to write to the Victorian Golf Association with a view to making preliminary arrangements.

The Queensland Golf Association wrote asking for full particulars as to the association's method of collecting revenue as their association desires to adopt a similar policy. The secretary reported that full particulars had been sent them, together with a balance sheet and annual report. Particulars were received from the Lucifer Golfing Society, London, regarding a competition being arranged in London for all overseas golfers with handicaps of IS or under who care to enter. The competition is to be played oil Walton Health. Surrey, on June 26 and 27, and full particulars have been sent by the Lucifer Golfing Society to all affiliated clubs in New Zealand.
