THE DAIRY INDUSTRY.
NORTHERN WAIROA. REMARKABLE INCREASES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Tuesday. The output of butter from the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company factory shows an increase of 49Vi tons over that for February, 1928, the figures being '243 tons last month, against 193% tons in February, 1928. The total for the season to date is tons, against 1.597 tons, an increase of 207 tons. The weather is still dry. but the milk flow is keeping up remarkably well. Despite the driest February recorded in ten years, the paspalum pastures are holding well and confirming the Hon. de la Perrelle's expressed opinion of the wonderful future possibilities of Northern Wairoa.
The Ruawai Co-operative Company'* butterfat production for February. 1928, was 116,0221b. For February last it was 160.6351b. For the Reason to date in 1928 it was 892,9661b, and for 1928 2,132,5211b.
Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, •dated sth instant:—Cheese: The market ia slow. New Zealand, 88/ to 89/.
