Munro, M.P., to the query, "Is the Labour party, after its biggest victorv at the polls, in danger of splitting on the rook of party discipline?" Ihi? is the first I had heard about it,'' said Mr. Munro, when he was asked to comment on the report. **X hav* l not had time to get into communication with three party members. Messrs. Lee Martin. -Jordan and Langstone, who are reported to be leaders in the moderate movement, but I intend communicating with them to-day to ascertain the true position."
Among the names suggested as those being likely to become allied with the new group was that of Mr. Munro.
"So far as I am concerned." he said, ''There is no truth in the report whatever, and, moreover, there is no likelihood of it being truthful."
That anv elements in party relationship tended to cause a split was strongly rebutted by Mr. Munro. '"When I was in Wellington for the short session the party \vu-> very solid, with a good spirit and feeling among its members. I think this report has been based on man-in-street rumours. There has been no talk of dissension over the leadership of the party. Mr. Holland was elected practically unanimously by the party, and no suggestion of hostility has been advanced by any member of'the part v.
