VALUE OF ASSETS.
PURCHASE BY POWER BOARD.
PROCEEDINGS AT HAvVERA.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, this day. Arbitration proceedings opened here to-day to determine the value of the assets of the Hawera County Electric Company for the purpose of the purchase by the South Taranaki Powtr Board.
The assessors are Mr. E. Hitchcock, manager of the Municipal Electricity Department. Christchurch (for the board), and Mr. H. D. Vickerv, accountant, of Wellington (for the company).
Mr. J. S. Barton. S.M.. is umpire. Mr. T. C. Spratt. o<f Wellington, with him Mr. A. K. North, of Hawera, is counsel for the company, which is in the position of plaintiff, and Mr. M. Myers. K.C., with him Mr. John Houston, of Hawera, is counsel for the board.
The witnesses include accountants and engineers from various parts of the Dominion, and it is anticipated that the proceedings will last several day 3.
