TECHNICAL TRADE SCHOOLS. GISBORNE RECOMMENDATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, this day. A meeting of representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Employers' Association. Apprentice Committees. Y.M.C.A., Rotary Club, and the Shop Assistants' Union last, night recommended that the Government should establish technical schools for trade education for the benefit of boys leaving school in annual drafts. Those present emphasised the necessity for keeping lads in productive work, or training until openings developed for their absorption into trades.
